Lift-and-slide systems are window and door solutions featuring large panels, significantly bigger than standard windows or traditional entrance doors. The sashes slide horizontally along the track, allowing for wide openings and a substancial increase in glazed surface area. Their operation is based on a mechanism that slightly lifts the sash when the handle is turned, reducing friction and ensuring smooth movement even with very large and heavy glass panels.

When dealing with large lift-and-slide systems, every component must be precisely engineered, as the forces acting on the frame increase with the size of the glazing. Particular attention must be paid to key elements: gaskets, which must ensure air and water tightness without affecting smooth sliding; the bottom track, which supports the weight of the sash and guarantees stable, fluid movement; and the top beam, which ensures the overall structural stability of the system.
